Eureka Apex 2XT Adventure 2-Person Backpacking Tent
Overall Grade: B
The Eureka Apex 2XT Backpacking Tent is an excellent quality outdoor shelter at a very reasonable asking price. This is one of the best backpacking tents we have been able to review.
It is a lightweight tent for 3-season backpacking treks into the back country. It balances maximal thermal efficiency with superior ventilation, thanks to one entire wall of no-see mesh–great for stargazing on clear summer nights. The other walls are waterproof while a sturdy double-coated StormShield polyester fly protects the mesh wall in inclement weather.

Eureka Apex 2XT Customer Reviews
We were able to locate countless consumer reviews for the Eureka Apex 2XT backpacking tents online. A majority gave this backpacking tent their highest rating though others were not nearly as enthralled by its capabilities.
A number of consumers reported back stating it is very comfortable for 2 people as opposed to other backpacking tents they’ve tested. They also reported it is relatively easy and straight-forward to set-up, especially for one person.
As far as dealing with the elements, most reported back saying the it kept its occupants 100% dry even in on soaked earth and driving rain. It also stood up to winds in excess of 50 mph, which is very impressive.
There weren’t very many negatives to be found, and the few minor discrepancies were just that, minor. The Eureka Apex 2XT, listed at just shy of 6 pounds, was reported to be a little heavy for the extreme backpackers to haul around. Again, this wasn’t a deal breaker so we’ll give this product the benefit of the doubt.
Overall we give the Eureka Apex 2XT a “B”. It really delivers quality and design at a reasonable price. It is built to withstand the elements, but we just like some other backpacking tents a lot better like the Eureka Backcountry and Alps Chaos 3.
